Many years ago, while doing sound at the Newport Jazz Festival, I had the privilege of escorting Ella Fitzgerald to the wrap party. It was a moment I will never forget.

I told her

I named my

daughter Willow

because she

was born

reed strong

willow thin

-dark brown hair

haloed her face

each feathered

lock gold tipped

-this angel miracle born
